The European Commission defines digital competence as one of the eight key competence standards for lifelong learning. The Erasmus+ project SIMPLY DIGI has the objective to promote the use of #digital #tools among teachers and trainers introduce innovative approaches to youth education and to make teaching, training, and career guidance more attractive and engaging. The project’s purposes take inspiration from and are in line with the contents of the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators.
The European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators, also known by its acronym #DigCompEdu, was published in 2017 by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. The DigCompEdu framework is meant as a tool to support the development of educator-specific digital competences. It encourages teachers and trainers to assess their personal level of Digital Competences and provides suggestions for further development. Moreover, the framework helps to address the educators’ training needs, and to find exercises and materials to improve their digital competences.
The SIMPLY DIGI project took inspiration from this document and is introducing new approaches, contents, and methods concerning the use of Digital Tools to #innovate youth education, training, and career guidance.
